You Belong Here
At Kirksey Middle School, our vision guides everything we do by developing every student through meaningful relationships, high expectations, and exceptional instruction every day. This work is intentional and rooted in a shared commitment among our teachers to learn, grow, and prepare every student for success.
Through strong collaboration and purposeful planning, our staff works together to support every learner and ensure students are known, challenged, and supported. This is how our vision comes to life and why, at Kirksey, you belong here.
At Kirksey, belonging also means giving back. In the next video, you will see how our students put that value into action through the Gift of Reading program by sharing the joy of reading, reconnecting with their former schools, and spreading holiday cheer in the Kirksey Way.
Belonging at Kirksey also means being part of something bigger. In this next video, you’ll see how House Fridays bring students together each week - building school spirit, friendly competition, and connections across grade levels. While the games are fun, House Day is about teamwork, pride, and celebrating the hard work students put in every day. This is one of the many ways we work hard, play hard, and stand out - together.
All of these experiences come together through something that truly defines life at Kirksey. In this final video, you’ll meet our House System - Six houses, One Cougar. Each house has its own identity, traditions, and spirit, giving every student a place to belong while learning how to support one another, compete like siblings, and work together as one school community.
At Kirksey Middle School, belonging is not just something we say. It is something you experience every day. Through learning together, giving back, building connections, and celebrating who they are, students find their place and their people. These moments are what make Kirksey more than a school. They make it a community where everyone is known, supported, and encouraged to be their best. At Kirksey, you belong here.
